This ended up being a buddy read with Nadia! We both went in expecting a high-stakes action packed thriller. And while there were a few suspenseful action scenes, it felt more like the story of a techy woman on the run who very clearly needed medical attention. I just couldn’t get past that fact that Jack was going into septic shock throughout the novel. And there aren’t many characters, so the culprit was fairly obvious from the beginning. It was still well-written in true Ruth Ware fashion, and it was fast paced, but the scenario was just too drawn out and detailed (and not believable).
